Project Gotham Racing 3 Xbox 360 Game Description:

Project Gotham Racing 3 also referred to as PGR 3 is the third installment of the Project Gotham Racing series.

PGR 3 features over 80 cars from 30 manufacturers including the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Dodge. The previous PGR games contained Porsche’s, but PGR 3 omitted them in this version in favor of Ruf. PGR 3 also deviates from the previous versions by putting strong emphasis on supercars and special models instead of standard production cars and common vehicles like the Ford Focus. There are some production cars available, but they are less prevalent. One of the starter cars in this came is the Acura NSX.

Like it’s predecessors, each car has a specific class,A through E, with the high performance cars as Class A, and the low performance cars in Class E.

PGR 3 features four cities to race through including New York, Las-Vegas, Tokyo, and London. In addition you can also race the Nürburgring

In addition to racing to win, PGR 3 works on a point system called Kudos. Kudos are awarded for driving with style (drifting) or getting your car up on to two wheels.You can also score big points with combo’s of moves.

Forza Horizon Xbox 360 Game Description:

Horizon is an open road racing game that takes place at the fictional Colorado horizon festival. The game borrows much of it’s gameplay aspects from previous Forza Motorsport titles such as TONS of cars (300+), a high end physics engine, STUNNING graphics, and lots of customizations from tuning to liveries.

Essentially you are trying to progress through a career mode by winning events, getting popular by driving fast, wrecking property, and performing daring stunts and tricks. Horizon features the same game physics as Forza Motorsport 4, but gives a bit more of an arcade feel with more dramatic accidents and cars that slide a bit more in their rear end. One of the highlights of Forza Horizon 1 is the ability to take your car off-road in certain places and just explore the map.

Forza Motorsport 3 Xbox 360 Game Description:

FM 2 was released on the Xbox 360 as a follow up to the original Forza Motorsport released on Xbox. The game focuses primarily on circuit racing and removed point to point races which were featured in the original. Real world tracks Silverstone, Tsukuba, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, Sebring International Raceway, Mugello Circuit, Suzuka Circuit, and Nürburgring Nordschleife are licensed and included, plus track variations.

Two notes about Forza 2. 1) it was one of the first racing games to feature cars from the American Le Mans Series both in game and via DLC. 2) This is also the game that started the Xbox 360 down the path of sim racing as they had pro racers test the Xbox racing wheel to help the development in trying to achieve realistic features and settings. FM2 has force feedback with the use of the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

• On going game balancing: Turn 10 continued to troubleshoot bugs and make the game better after it was released

• Stats: Cars bought feature stats such as mileage, total repair cost, number of previous owners, etc.
• Customize: advance livery editor and very detailed tuning options

My Opinion on Forza Motorsport 3 Xbox 360

Forza Motorsport 2 on The xbox 360 was very similar to the original game. It doesn’t change that this game is awesome and is worthy of being part of the Forza series. The biggest step in progress for this game was not so much game features or graphics, but the racing wheel integration that makes this game worthy of a high mark. As a racing game itself, Forza 3 and Forza 4 are much more solid games, but this game holds it’s place in history as a stepping stone for the games to follow.

Nascar 2014 Xbox 360 Game Description:

If you are lookin for Nascar to go full thottle around Daytona and Taladega then this is your game…WAIT! Be warned this game is full of bugs, has poor lag time, and the AI is a bit wonky. Sure you can take your favorite driver and race in the events including practice, qualifying, and challenges, but this 2014 version has been completely stripped off it’s great features and is SHOCKING that they would release a game this way. Even if you overlook the bugs, this game is a step back.

I am a sim racing guy and I love games like this, but even the Xbox racing wheel support for Nascar 2014 has issues particularly the xbox 360 Wireless racing wheel.

Nascar 2014 Xbox 360 Review – Wrap Up

While this game looks like it has a lot of promise especially for the Nascar fanatic, there are just way to many complaints of bugs and poor functionality for me to rate this over a 2. I think the game looks great and I love oval racing especially with a racing wheel, but even that has bug issues. I personally think it is too risky to spend your hard earned money on, especially when there are better more reliable racing game options on the Xbox 360.

Blur Xbox 360 Game Description:

Blur is like Mario cart meets Need For Speed delivering a high energy fictional racing game. It features fictional streets in worldwide locations in which you race and use power ups and weapons like shock attacks, nitro speed boosts, defensive shields, and landmines to beat your rivals to the end point.

The Story line carries out through a sinle player campaign mode where you take on the role of an up-and-coming racer who is racer trying to make a name for himself. The more series you race, the more characters you will run into, some will be rivals, others coaches, and some may be something else entirely. The only thing that is guaranteed in this game is that it is high speed action where racers will do anything to make it to the finish line first.

Blur Review Xbox 360 Wrap Up

As a simulated race fan Blur on the Xbox 360 to me is way to arcadey, however I appreciate the high speed and pure ENTERTAINMENT that this game provides and I think that holds a lot of weight in my book. Sure I like sim, but who doesn’t like trading paint and firing weapons at the cars you are competing with. This game is pure aracade fun! The motion is really fluid, the cars look great, and the competition at screaming high speeds will get your heart racing. If you are looking for an arcade racer for your Xbox 360 with some futuristic flash…look no futher than Blur.

It is not only best in class, but given the amount of content that is packed into the game it even rivals it’s predecessor Forza 5 on the Xbox One.

The standard version is the game and all of the basic content. It has two disks, Disc 1 is your game and 320 cars Disc 2 is an additional 300 cars. You can get most of the additional cars and tracks through DLC that are featured on the limited edition. The Forza 4 Essentials edition is ONLY disk one which has the game and 320 cars.

I have no doubt that if you are looking for a racing game on your Xbox 360 and you haven’t tried Forza 4 yet…you will never look at another racing title the same way ever again.
